Medical student Amanda Meyers thought she had her life all planned out until people started dying the moment they touched her. Being cleared of any wrongdoing didn’t stop the medical school from expelling her, and it didn’t rid her of the unfortunate nickname Grim Reaper.

Luckily, having a rep as the harbinger of death isn’t a total resume killer. Rick Rowling, Special Agent for the FBI’s Paranormal Cases Division recruits her to work for the Bureau. But the sexy, brilliant, outrageous loose cannon proves to be just as untouchable as the mysterious creature or creatures that may be responsible for the seemingly unsolvable murder that becomes their first case together.

Instead of treating patients, Amanda’s life becomes a test of her patience and a wild ride into the wicked paranormal world where her new boss runs the show. Together they face a ghoulish force that could destroy the entire city and a grueling family dinner that could leave Amanda contemplating harakiri.

It’s a battle of life and debt [student debt, that is] and saving the world has never been so funny.

Amanda Meyers has just lost everything she has worked her whole life for. She has been thrown ot of Medical School based on an ugly yet semi accurate rumor that she is death… No she isn’t ACTUALLY death but the last three men she has tended to during her internship (all of whom happen to be disgusting humanbeings) have died after being touched by her.

Now she is single cause her douche bag boyfriend believes the rumor can interfere with his career and has kicked her to the curb and is living with her parents. The silver lining is that she has been offered a job with the FBI. Why? She hasn’t the faintest idea but she isn’t in the position to turn down any paying job as she is in debt for medical school. Yes they threw her out but they still want her money and so begins her adventures with her new boss Rick Rowling. Rick Rowling just happens to be the person who started the death rumors but is also the head of the Paranormal Cases Division.

That’s right her new jobs involves investigating things that go bump in the night….

I enjoyed this hilarious and fresh spin on paranormal cozys. Our protagonist is funny and witty and has spunk for days. I especially enjoyed Rick as he brings a lot of snort worthy attributes to the table and is a great break from the dark spots of the story. I did find it to be a bit short and everything seemed to wrap up rather quickly but I really liked reading this short, sweet and super funny reads.

Rating – 4 out of 5 cupcakes

I’m the author of Paranormal in Manhattan Mystery series and PI Assistant Extraordinaire Mystery. I fell in love with mystery the moment I developed consciousness. I’m especially fond of lighthearted murder mystery stories with a little sprinkle of romance.

I went to medical school hoping to see real corpses and sexy professors. Back then, I was into this kind of mystery series about a smokin’ hot forensic medicine professor and a quirky female student going a-sleuthing, cracking unsolvable cases. I truly, madly wanted to team up with a superhot professor and crack a difficult murder or two. (Note; I got to see the corpses, but sexy professors were nonexistent.)
