Truly Mason has had the bad luck to lose her mother, her singing voice, her opera career, and her TV star fiancé all in one year. When her aunt dies and leaves her a house called Lady’s View on the coast of Maine, Truly hopes her luck is finally changing. Leaving her past behind, she moves to Kilkeel, but from the moment she arrives, strange events lead to the conclusion that her aunt was murdered, and that Truly could be next.

Guarded by a demon trapped in the body of a house cat, Truly must use her wits, and the strange magic in her broken voice, to navigate a perilous world of hunky neighbors with dark pasts, lawyers with supernatural sex appeal, and bickering witches with an agenda. But it’s also a world of magic and music, and a bad luck curse that could destroy them all.

Bad luck seems to follow Truly Mason everywhere she goes. She has lost everything including her dream of becoming a world renowned opera star, her fiance and worst of all her mother. She has no idea why her luck is so bad until one day she finds out about her long lost Aunt Felicia and her passing.

Truly has never felt like she belonged and felt like something was missing and now she knows what it is. Her mother tried to shield her from danger and the truth but with her death the truth has come out and refuses to go away.

So I have been on a bit of a witchy and magic reading spree as of lately with the leaves changing color so does my preference in reading material! The Halloween spirit is alive inside my Kindle and I  especially enjoyed reading this story! From page one the author captures her readers with mystery and hijinks with every page turn. The plot was not only well written but super entertaining!

Not only did I fall head over heels for Truly Mason who by the way is sassy funny and quick witted but I also fell in love with the story the author so craft-fully built! I eagerly await the second book in the series and strongly recommend you pick this baby up!

Rating- 4.5 out of 5 Cupcakes!

Heather Hamilton-Senter grew up in a family where books of myth and legend were used to teach the ABCs and Irish uncles still believed in fairies. Raised with tall tales, she has always told stories too- first as an actor and singer, then as a photographer, and now as a writer.

Heather lives in rural Ontario, Canada raising Summer, Holly, and little Stephen to tell their own stories, cheered on by her biggest fan, her husband Steve.
