Zara Riddle moves to the town of Wisteria for a dream job as a librarian. She hasn’t even unpacked her moving boxes when she and her teen daughter, Zoey, are swept up in a murder mystery.

With all the ghosts and supernatural creatures around (Including a real hunk of a wolf shifter! Meow!) it’s a good thing the Riddle women are tougher than they look. Now, if only they could handle their new witch powers as well as they’ve mastered their sarcastic wit!

Zara Riddle needs a  change in life- so when she lands her dream job as a Liberian in the small town of Wisteria she picks up her daughter Zoey and they start a new adventure. Little do they know this adventure will include Magic, Ghost and Shifters oh my!

Zara soon finds out that she is a witch and we aren’t talking about the grumpy kind or the kind with worts but a honest to god witch with magical powers! She also meets her long lost zainy aunt who happens to have a bit of a hand in her landing in Wisteria in the first place!

If you are like moi and and are still reeling from A Season in the Life Gilmore Girls netflix episodes than trust me when I say this is the book for you! This wonderful new series reminds me so much of my beloved Gilmore Girls that I honestly read with Lorelei and Rory’s voices in my head! Add magic and ghost and I am head over heels for this series!

The story was well thought out, full of snark and quirk and I was in heaven while reading. The author takes the time to develop such wonderful lead and secondary characters that I could see them all so clearly in my minds eye. I will even go on to say that Zara may be my new spirit animal! The relationship between Zara and Zoey is heart warming and snortastic!

Bottom line- I wholeheartedly give this book a loud and proud 5 out of 5 cupcakes and two jazz hands!

Author Angela Pepper lives in the rainy Pacific Northwest with her husband and their spoiled ginger cat.
