Can good triumph over evil…when evil runs in your veins?

An ill-fated late night Target run knocks Sarah Archer off the good-witch wagon when she confronts road rage in the parking lot.

A blue moon, PMS, and seven months of pent up energy makes her spell stronger than she intended. The aftershock of it binds her into a love spell with a handsome stranger, and life for an evil witch trying to give up her dark ways gets suddenly gets even more complicated.

Will Sarah be able to control herself before dark energy claims her, or will she die young like all the Archer witches before her?

Sarah Elizabeth Archer is single and lives alone in the house her Mother and Aunt died in. They died because the darkness their magic harnessed devoured their souls. Sarah refuses to suffer the same fate. She refuses to let her magic overcome her.

In order to stay away from the intense call of dark magic Sarah works a boring job and surrounds herself with mediocrity. Everyday is a struggle- especially when she gets angry. You do not want to get this witch angry.

On an outing to her local Target to stock up on PMS esscentuals she has a confrontation with a woman driver and her anger gets the best of her. Her magic sends a spell towards the womans truck- unfortunately for Sarah all magic comes with a price and the backlash hits her hard.

Sarah is not the only victim of the backlash of her magic- her magic also wraps itself around Paul Revere Longfellow. Not only ruining the very expensive car he is driving but bonding both he and Sarah together.

Can Sarah fight the call of dark magic and figure out a way to get both she and Paul out of this mess?

The Sweet-

Sass- Lots of it! I adore a strong sassy witchy woman character and Sarah does not disappoint. She is all I ever want in a main character. Sarah to me is perfectly imperfect – I mean who isn’t? Sure dark matter runs through her veins and everyday is a struggle not to give into her dark side but matters is she is trying not to succumb to the incredible pull of darkness she feels.  This all makes Sarah so realistic to me- We all have our demons and the fact that she is a perfect mess but still chugging on only endears her more to me.

Paul Revere Longfellow, Sigh what can I saw about Paul Revere Longfellow except YUM! A war hero who is struggling with his own demons, who has become his families Black sheep. He has such kind soul and is fighting with hisown darkness himself. He – to me at least is the picture perfect bookfriend who not only is kind, hot and doesn’t take any og Sarah’s bull but ladies HE CAN COOK! What is not to love about Paul Revere Longfellow? (Yes I have to say his whole name every time)

The plot is filled with sass, cleverness and magical antics and I gobbled this book up. The writing in this book is filled with humor and wit and is perfectly paced. I also loved loved loved the ending so damn much, I actually teared up a bit!

The Sour-

I disliked some of the character’s but to be honest the way they were written – I think we were supposed to dislike them lol.

Rating- 5 EPIC Cupcakes out of 5! If you are having a bad day and need a great read to improve your mood or are experiencing a reading slump I strongly recommend picking up Bitch Witch!

In a small village in New York lives Jane Doe, a girl with no memory of who she is or where she came from. So when she is working at a diner and slowly begins to realize she can see dead people, she’s more than a little taken aback. Stranger still are the people entering her life. They seem to know things about her. Things they hide with lies and half-truths. Soon, she senses something far darker. A force that wants to cause her harm, she is sure of it. Her saving grace comes in the form of a new friend she feels she can confide in and the fry cook, a devastatingly handsome man whose smile is breathtaking and touch is scalding. He stays close, and she almost feels safe with him around.

But no one can outrun their past, and the more lies that swirl around her-even from her new and trusted friends-the more disoriented she becomes, until she is confronted by a man who claims to have been sent to kill her. Sent by the darkest force in the universe. A force that absolutely will not stop until she is dead. Thankfully, she has a Rottweiler. But that doesn’t help in her quest to find her identity and recover what she’s lost. That will take all her courage and a touch of the power she feels flowing like electricity through her veins. She almost feels sorry for him. The devil in blue jeans. The disarming fry cook who lies with every breath he takes. She will get to the bottom of what he knows if it kills her. Or him. Either way….

Charley Davidson is in trouble… again! However this time it is a brand new kind of trouble- after suffering a beyond traumatizing event our favorite Grim Reaper has woken up wet, naked and alone in a random alley in upstate New York to top it all of she has no clue who she is ir what she is for that matter.

Since waking up with no memory Charley now goes by Janie Doe. Though she may not remember who she is Janie is no doubt the same Charley fans of the series have come to know and love in fact she may be a little funnier with amnesia!

The Sweet-

I am a huge fan of Darynda Jones and her writing- so much so that I recently talked my co-worker into listening to all of her audio books! I fell like me and Darynda would be the best of friends as I relate to Charley so much and I can only hope that the author adds a bit of herself into my favorite literary female character.

Enough gushing of my undying love for all things Charley. In this book we got to fall in love with the character all over again because even if she didn’t know who she was and was going by the name of Janie she was still very much Charley. As Janie we watched her grow and come into the awesomeness that is Charley. As you read on your heart hurts for her and her lost, as well for those around her who can only watch and hope she some how heals and remembers who she is.

I think that was one of the things I loved most about this chapter of the series- that we got to see just how much all these people love Charley- willing to leave the lives the know behind in order to watch and protect Charley who has suffered such a gut wrenching lost in the previous book. You kind of get to know them all over again through Janie’s eyes which I loved.

The plot and story are both excellently written and you can see the author really thought out Janie’s journey into her true self.

Also I feel like a certain Reyes Farro deserves his own gushing over- I mean come on HOLY ALL THINGS HOT! If he wasn’t my favorite book boyfriend before this book he and I are now wed! (Sorry Charley) Not only is he is typical brooding self but he is so broken and so guilty – you get to see a softer side of him!

If you are a fan of the series and have yet to read (or listen) to this installment What the heck are you waiting for???

5 cupcakes ALL THE WAY!!!!

After years of being repeatedly sent to the principal’s office for daydreaming in class, she managed to make it to high school where she almost finished her first manuscript. Sitting with her BFF in a corner booth at the local Tastee Freeze for hours at a time, she wrote a post-apocalyptic story about a group of teens who bore a remarkable resemblance to the members of Van Halen and were trying to escape the tunnels of a huge government fallout facility decades after World War III had destroyed the surface of the earth. It was a science fiction version of The Warriors and destined to be a classic.

Life was good. Writing was good. Then she graduated and the real world came crashing through. She forced the dream aside in favor of sustenance and shelter, got married to a local rock star, and had at least two kids that she can think of, the oldest of whom was born Deaf, probably to spite her. When he was five, she packed up her boys and moved to Albuquerque to put him in a Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing program. The rock star stayed behind with the business, and they took turns going back and forth on the weekends to see each other for seven really long years.

While in Albuquerque, Darynda decided to see the cup half full and go back to college while she still had enough brain cells to make it worth her while. After graduating Summa cum Laude from the University of New Mexico with a degree in Sign Language Interpreting, she moved back to her hometown and got a real job. Several in fact, mostly teaching at a local college and interpreting pretty much everywhere. Based on personal experience, she does not recommend having more than three jobs at any given time.

But bit by bit, the desire to write needled its way back to the surface. Unable to squelch it any longer, she started writing seriously again in 2002 with one goal in mind: A publishing contract. Unfortunately, she sucked. Thank goodness practice makes almost-perfect and three complete manuscripts later, she won that Golden Heart, landed an amazing agent and sold to St. Martin’s Press in a three-book deal.

She currently has two series with St. Martin’s Press, the Charley Davidson series and the Darklight Trilogy. She hopes you enjoy reading them as much as she enjoys writing them.

Darynda lives in the Land of Enchantment, also known as New Mexico, with her husband of almost 30 years and two beautiful sons, the Mighty, Mighty Jones Boys.

The Sweet-

So witchy cozy mysteries are my absolute fav when it comes to picking a new book to read. Having read some of the author’s previous work I was beyond excited when I purchased the ebook to read. Let me tell you Ms Dragon did not disappoint!

The characters all has their own quirks making each of them so realistic and original. Claudia the main heroine of is not only a bad ass powerful witch but she is also kind and smart she is alo hard headed and stubborn.

The story itself is well written and creative leaving the reader guessing the entire time. Your mind points to so many possible characters that could have killed Ms O’Connor that when you finally figure it out you can’t believed you missed it!

If you enjoy witchy cozy mysteries that are snarky and clever than I highly recommend Pick your Potion by CC Dragon,
